They live up to their title with their native American sounds routed through the veins of roots rock, country, and folk. Americana never sounded this good. I mean who else writes a song for the head wrangler of the International Horseback Trail Ride, Riding For America that begins in Alberta Canada and continues on through Wyoming and then heads east towards the Statue of Liberty? And entitled "Cowboy Up / Riding For America" was recorded as a "Western reminder of the attacks on 9/11" and fortunately doesn't stray down the pathway of Toby Keith obnoxiousness. Also included are a Frank Sinatra medley as well as tunes written by Kris Kristofferson, Tex Owen, Marty Robbins, John Philips, and Jerry Hayes. ---Smother.net |
