Brief Description New England Hard Rock
History/Biography Imagine the ultimate combination of Rock and Metal, a genre of music that can dominate the Mainstream world and still have enough capacity to steamroll into the Underground. Now take a quintet of driven, talented, and professional musicians and the result is Shattersphere.
With the recent release of In The Face of Anger EP, Shattersphere looks to further push the boundaries within their genre. They pride themselves on their insane live show and unique catalog of songs that span from straightforward radio anthems, to 8-minute epics that display each individual member's musical proficiency. Shattersphere is the result of five very different, dedicated, and open-minded individuals who have collaborated to create original music with thought, depth, and emotion.
In Fall of 2003, the band has teamed up with Sony Producer Ron Zabrocki (Mariah Carey, Korn, Slayer) and Tim Conklin (Selena, Rollins Band, Blues Traveler) to begin work on their self-titled debut album. The 9-track effort, released on May 15, 2004, showcases the band's commitment and dedication to thoughtful songwriting. The Shattersphere CD Release Party for their debut CD was held at The Webster Theater in Hartford, CT to a capacity crowd. Throughout the course of the band's history, they began to form a sonic quality and stage presence that is one of a kind. From the brutal ear-piercing assault "Lost In The Flames" to the epic orchestral masterpiece "Reflections," the band is able to invoke an emotional rollercoaster among their audience.
Upon the release of the debut CD, Shattersphere began to dominate the internet download charts. Lost In The Flames immediately shot up to #1 on the Metal charts on Audiostreet.net, beating out national acts such as Atreyu and Opeth. In addition, the band has had 3 songs (Lost In The Flames, Phantoms, and Incomplete Sanity) reach #1 on Download.com, Funender.com, MP3Unsigned.com, The Unsigned Music Network, dMusic, and Soundstation.com.
In 2004 the band was picked by CondomClub.com to be featured in their Rock Hard Music Spotlight. This gave the band promotional spots on the legendary KROCK 92.3 in New York and 106.9 WCCC in Hartford. Shattersphere has also been in regular rotation on college radio stations across New England such as 88.7 WNHU and 90.7 WGCC-FM, as well as internet stations such as Hook And Mouth Radio, Freak Radio, ChronixRadio, Cyberstation USA, Ultra Radio and more.
In 2004, Shattersphere inked a Worldwide Digital Distribution deal with 65 online stores in 14 countries. Shattersphere is available on The iTunes Music Store, Napster, eMusic, Real Rhapsody and many more all over the world.
The band has shared the stage with some of the best acts in the music business such as Orgy, Mushroomhead, King's X, Soulfly, Motograter, (Hed) PE, Dry Kill Logic, All That Remains, Twelve Tribes, Crisis, Classic Case, Index Case, and Frank Aresti (Fate's Warning).
Shattersphere has built a reputation as a self-sufficient machine. Always looking to push forward, the band continuously writes new material and performs live throughout the region. With the release of In The Face of Anger EP Shattersphere once again pushes for further recognition across the globe. |
