History/Biography Multi-aliased Kyle Andrew Ward has been working as an electronic music composer for years under a variety of monikers. One of those names "Banzai" has released a new single wherein the ancient meets the future.
Vancouver, Washington's Ward produces music in a variety of genres and licenses tunes to entertainment interests, including those in the video game industry. Ward has had music featured in the video games In The Groove, and Pump It Up Pro.
He released his debut single Goin' Home in 1998, even performing it live for his high school in a battle of the bands. Since then, he has been an active online artist, sharing his music with a hungry populace via a number of Internet venues. His styles include all sorts of dance genres, including techno, trance, happy hardcore, drum-and-bass and more. His video game compositions remain his most well-known calling cards.
Aliases under which Ward works include: KaW (melodic and atmospheric trance, 130-155 BPM), Smiley (fast-paced happy hardcore offerings, 150-180 BPM), Inspector K (aggressive techno and drum-and-bass, 155-210 BPM), Banzai (tribal house, ethnic, 100-130 BPM), Kbit (techno/rave, BPM varies) and Oscillator X, a duo with John Mendenhall that sprung forth full-bloomed from the surprising technological simplicity of 2 synths, a turntable and a drum machine.
"I started giving project names an alias back in 2001" says Ward. The original idea behind this was to give the music styles an icon/name for people to follow.
Ward has released several albums in partnership with his label, SCI Recordings (* HYPERLINK "http://www.scirecordings.com" **www.scirecordings.com*). They are: SCI-BORG Volume 1, Urban Comatose, Synthsations, and Caddywhompus.
Ward is currently the composer and content manager for the ôIn The Grooveö and ôPump It Up Proö game series and is working with A&R Select, the premier A&R firm based out of Los Angeles, CA. He is single and lives in Vancouver. When not producing music for clients, he is active with fitness and swimming activities. |
