| | Posted on Feb 3, 2005 @8:49 AM | Rating: 8 / 10 | Wow my first impressions are good as it sounds like Roger Waters and Peter Gabriel doing a duet on that first track! Awesome! "For a Climb" is great; the acousticage is nice, it has a great melody and nice lyrics too. The first section is reminiscent of those really cool acoustic bits on "A Trick of the Tail" by Genesis or the really poigniant bits on "Us" by Peter Gabriel. The second section has a nice Wishbone Ash style groove to it and I'm going to guess that the guitarist/guitarists have a big liking for Dream Theater, or Queensryche possibly. The change in styles throughout reminds me of the masters themselves Yes. I particularly enjoyed the George Harrison-esque third end-section as well.
Each song cleverly displays each band member's strength. A good selection of stuff here. Overall - great stuff! |
