History/Biography
From the official website, Abominatrix writes: "Demontage was born in middle 2001, when Spatilomantis and Abominatrix were part of the Tolkien inspired black metal project Gaurhoth. At the time, the pair were undergoing something of a musical renaissance and wanted to create something a little different from what their bandmates would have considered appropriate. So one night, over some beers and much THC consumption, they decided to create something completely simple, stripped down and basic that paid homage to bands such as Hellhammer, Bathory and Darkthrone. Before long, the first Demontage song, "Retroexorcism", was written and recorded using a PC and sampled percussion. Not long afterwards, Gaurhoth experienced an array of personal and musical conflicts that caused the band to fold, and within the year, Spatilomantis and Abominatrix met many times to discuss the new musical ideas, penned by Spatilomantis, that were envisioned to be Demontage songs. In the early summer of 2003, Nimrod (later Temüjin) joined the band on bass, and Demontage was finally able to rehearse as a full band. Diabolical Vengeance was briefly part of the band as a second guitarist, however was unable to commit to the band due to his busy schedule and radically different playing style."
The current lineup consists of Spatilomantis a.k.a. Adrian S.o.S. (guitar, vocals), Abominatrix (drums and backing vocals), and Pervertis (bass). The full-length album entitled "Sacrilege 'n Miscreancy" is now released under the Unsung Heroes Records banner. |
