"Love is all we need, has a nice rock beat with great instrumentation. Reminds me a bit of Chicago with it's tight horn section and rock steady groove. Rapid fire lyrics, swinging backup vocals and tight breaks. Several Years behind has spicy guitar parts and great bluesy elements. The intro is classic. I like the vocals, take me back to Al Stewart days. Very retro, very cool. The bass pattern really compliments the rhythm guitar part. Vocally, I'm quite impressed with the sparse harmonies and mid range timbre of your voice on this. I listened to Land of Broken Dreams. I like this composition a lot. It's deeply layered with lots of cool arrangements. Loving the guitar tone, and effects. Very emotive. A little whammy bar action? Very sweet. Cloudwalker has a great feel with the accoustic rhythm and great breezy vocals. Good story telling in the first person and a personal sounding song. Nice chord progression through the bridge setting up a nice... Read entire review »
| On "Several Years Behind" "Kiwi rips it up nicely with a groovey rock track about fame gone sour. Rather a mainstream vibe through this with some very robust, chunky guitar work erupting into tasty solo work. Clear vocal delivery with some real soul behind it on the rowsing chorus. Solid stuff. Clearly a broad range of influences are in this. There's no point in listing them it'd read like a history of modern rock from the 70s right up to the present. These damn Swedes! They seem to have a knack for producing strong radio ready intelligent rock, and long may they do so!" Gordon Bell www.rippingtracks.com
| On Love (is all you need) "This quirky cut from Kiwi - a master tunesmith from Sweden - features a horn section, funky electric piano riffs, grinding guitars (but not at all over the top), bitchin' bass playing, and Beatles-style hooks galore! The verses are piloted by Kiwi's speak-singing (along the lines of a mellower Steven Tyler), which dovetail nicely into Kiwi's 'Love' chorus: "t's not hard to show it, but so easy to blow it." Kind of reminds me of a Swedish version of Moby (that's a compliment!) Give Kiwi's stuff a spin - and spread the word!" Dale Turner www.intimateaudio.com |

The set opens up with Land of Broken Dreams, a great toe tapper!! Then theres a track called Tip Toe which is truly rocking... Kiwi delivers a strong vocal performance and Christer Sosa (Drums) lays a funky beat down and the band is straight up in the pocket!! This is an excellent track and one of my favorites. Two more jammin'... Read entire review » |

You should listen to Nick Sturmer, also on AS. His instrumentals are very interesting. Added you to my favorite artists, and plan to listen to more of your music. Would appreciate you listening to me also. I play and sing all parts, except drum machine on "Then and There." I replace with real drums as time allows. I lean toward a Beatles / Beachboys sound, but with my own... Read entire review » |
