Brief Description Inspired by video games and cartoons of decades past, in combination with the marvels of modern technology, OttO Vector is a highly-animated experiment that strives to inject brighter character and panache into the world of electronic pop music. With a focus on heavy beats and catchy melodies, OttO Vector represents a balanced synthesis of "live-band" and electronic/dance/techno music- with pop sensibilities.
History/Biography The electronic-pop project known as OttO Vector was created in Detroit in the Summer of 2002, by Mike Sonic and Ginseng. Both had many years of experience as members of "live" bands in Detroit, but neither ventured into the purely "electronic" realm. Using their years of collective musical experience as a guide, Sonic and Ginseng wrote and recorded a small library of electronic techno-pop songs. Wanting to further expand the boundaries of the project to a "live/performance" venue, the group recruited the talents of both Will and Jacobe (to play live drums and bass, respectively). The soul of the project was defined by the addition of vocalist Renee', the humanity of her voice serving as a perfect foil to the electronic audio landscape. Thus was born the electronic-pop-rock hybrid that is OttO Vector. |
