A master showman, you can always expect the unexpected at one of his gigs. A beautiful voice, simply wonderful. His material is both politically and emotionally driven, and he makes you want to take a good look around, see what's really going on with our society. A master storyteller. This guy knows more about Woody Guthrie than Woody knew himself, and Woody's influence on Fred really shows in his music. "All People are Hope Machines"..He's a true musician, this guy plays everything, and well, too...I recently saw him play at Coffee Labs in Tarrytown, a 2 hour set, one of the many times I've seen him live, and he literally blew my mind..his shows are very intimate and very revealing, and expressive and heartfelt..He plays alone and he plays with Hope Machine, a Woody Guthrie tribute group..do yourself a favor and check his shows page, find out where this guy is playing, and bring the kids, you won't want to miss out. |
