afloat beware the band
History/Biography
Afloat was founded in spring 2001 when Juho joined a gang of three jamming dudes; Mikko, Heikki and Matti. The band already had some song basis where to start creating their style. It mix-up late nineties alternative and some of this new-wave rockmetal. The first demo called 'So what' was made in summer 2002 and included 3 songs plus a hidden track.
Band used the next half a year training new songs and in the beginning of winter, band went to Mimix Studio to record their second demo. It was titled after the band and was sold out. Just before 3/4 of the band went to military service they recorded their third demo 'anemic third' which was released in the end of 2003.
The year 2004 was quiet time and rehearsing happened occationally. And a week after the military service was over they went to studio record 'The Morning Comes' demo. This summer band is trying to do as much gigs as possible and make the name "afloat", familiar to everyone. |
