Brief Description SPIN is a 4-piece Industrial Metal band consisting of: Simon - Vocals, Josef - Guitars/Programming, Andrè - Bass and Mark - Drums. Spin has released a total of 3 releases, named Pead, Cell 46 and Spin.
History/Biography Hailing from Malta, a small island in the heart of the Mediterranean, SPIN was formed back in 1999 and morphed over the years into a 4-piece Industrial Metal band consisting of: Simon - Vocals, Josef - Guitars/Programming, Andrè - Bass and Mark - Drums.
After releasing the self-produced EP Pead, written and recorded as a duo in three months, the band went on to record a follow-up, Cell 46, at Temple Studios with famed local producer David Vella (Beheaded, Rammstein, Beangrowers, Voodoo Cult, etc…). A spate of gigs, including one with UK's most fierce metal/sludge monsters SCURGE, cemented the band's reputation.
Meanwhile, Canada's leading metal magazine Brave Words and Bloody Knuckles called Cell 46 "…a sonically intense, well-recorded album full of adrenaline guaranteed to unleash the fury." and the tracks Y¿ and Cell 46 garnered Track of the Day awards on www.garageband.com , a website dedicated to discovering the best independent music. The EP's title track was also featured on BW&BK's KnuckleTracks L with the likes of LAMB OF GOD, VITAL REMAINS and THE KOVENANT.
Not content, the band re-entered Temple Studios in December 2004 to record four new tracks showcasing a more mature and original direction. The electronic elements now play a more important role in the songs while still keeping the crushing metal riffs and groovy passages that are an integral part of the band's signature sound.
With the machinery well-oiled and ready to go, SPIN is ready to destroy a stage near you.
