Brief Description Underground Gothic Rock band from Athens Greece, initialized Jan 2005.
History/Biography THE FAREWELL FIELDS is a new-formed band from Greece initialized in 2005 by Christos Babalis who writes and plays all songs. Their first demo Cd includes two songs and a cover from Morrissey,( "Every Day is Like Sunday"). The band plays atmospheric music with dual female and male vocals. You can imagine their music as something heavier than the last few albums from Anathema and a mixture of gothic rock. The demo was released two months ago (mid 2005), and they have done a very good job in the production department as all instruments can be heard clearly. You rarely hear such a good sound in a band's first release. Definitely, the opening track ("the Calling") is the highlight of this demo. Also, the last track ("Winter") is a kind of atmospheric ballad with the beautiful voice of Niki Liberaki. All in all, the stuff from THE FAREWELL FIELDS have some really strong points and their ideas are really interesting. (Info taken from review posted on www.metal-invader.com)
