Human Chaos EP review [August 2005] Publication: Metal Revolution Magazine [Issue 9] (English) Reviewer: Sacir Camo Country: Denmark 'Human Chaos' is the second demo from this unusual place for metal - band emerging from the commercial capital of the world, Dubai City in the United Arab Emirates. I've received this CD a few months ago from my friend Rami (guitars) and since then I still listen to this CD over and over again. The fact that it comes from this very unusual and "un-metal" country and the fact that it sounds the way it does keeps me coming back to it. Then, you might want to know what it sounds like? For me they sound most of all as Suffocation and Cannibal Corpse but some other thrash influences are to be heard as well. The music includes actually everything from thrash, death, hardcore and heavy metal which makes it very complex but at the same time very listenable. It's also important to mention that Nervecell had the opportunity to open for the world well known... Read entire review »
| Human Chaos EP review [September 2005] Publication: www.metal-rules.com (English) Reviewer: Luxi Lahtinen Country: USA/Canada I bet if I made sort of a calculatory summary on how many of you know names of metal bands from Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, I would expect to see only a couple of hands raised up in the air. I would have been one of those ignorant ones like a month ago, having no idea what´s this band called Nervecell from Dubai is all about. But now I can gladly announce to be a bit smarter. Nervecell emerged early in the year 2000 consisting the founding members Barnaby Ribeiro on guitars, Brogan Costa on vocals and Hatem on drums. Since then the band has suffered from some line-up changes ´til the end of 2003 when Nervecell became a 3-piece band and has stayed that way up to this very day. With this line-up the band also recorded their 2-track demo titled VASTLANDS OF ABOMINATION which gained a lot of response for them from all over the world. A few months... Read entire review »
| Human Chaos EP review [July 2005] Publication: www.metal-observer.com (English/German) Reviewer: Alex Country: Canada "TMO's archive continues to grow, with the 81st country that gets a review: the United Arab Emirates. Yes, Dubai is the home of the trio NERVECELL, whose first demo "Human Chaos" is the target of this shooting practice and even though the whole thing has apparently been declared Deathcore (can't really remember anymore where), it quite obviously is Death Metal that the gentlemen Mustafa, Khazaal and Ribeiro blow through our ears. Back in 2000 NERVECELL started out as Hardcore band, the last remaining survivor of that line-up is guitarist Barney Ribeiro. Through a string of line-up changes the following years led to a style change towards Death Metal, I can't really find any of the mentioned Hardcore elements. Be it as it may, for my ears this has been a very good step indeed. The opener "Signs Of The End" at times has a certain BOLT THROWER touch,... Read entire review » |
