Musical Style As the reviews said : a mixture of european power metal( with keyboard elements ) and 80's heavy metal
Influences From 80's Heavy metal and bands like Pantera, Metallica, and also the AOR scene, to european power metal and band. Also influenced by some prog bands, which is more obvious in the new tracks. |

Source: Metal Coven X-Piral rocks!!! Even though the cover art looks rather like queer Gothic Rock, these five Greeks celebrate great traditional Heavy Metal with a melodic touch on their debut "Poison Eyes"! And although a lot of fish struggle for dominance in this part of the sea, X-Piral succeed convincingly in retaining their own face and sounding different from the majority of their rivals... The nice opener "Poison Eyes" is probably still a little bit on the save side, but right afterwards they freak out more and fire two groovy grenades, namely "Crawling in your minds" and "Metal Storm". I'm sure, I'm not the only one who'll consider these two songs some of the definite highlights on "Poison Eyes"... wild and crazy Power Metal accompanied by crystalline keyboards - is the name of the game and especially on account of the cult vocals by Michael Apostolakis this sound comes along really self-containing!!! Some of you might feel disturbed by the fact, that Michael is... Read entire review »
| Source: Silent Scream Greece is showing to be one of the most prolific countries in metal field, also thanks to the local labels, able to raise from the underground bands of value. Among these without doubt there are X-Piral, born band in 2000 with the name of Shadow Play, that after some change of line-up and various gigs, publish their debut "Poison Eyes" with the label Burning Star. Despite the sound of the band certainly has its roots in the heavy/power metal, "Poison Eyes" is a truly various album , with tracks that space from the epic, to the speed, up to the progressive metal, with a wide use of keyboards in every tracks. Among the best songs we can remember "Metal Storm", with its heavy riffing in between Manowar and Judas Priest or the more epic-oriented "Crawling In Your Minds" and "Plains Of Perfection". Discreet also the conclusive ballads "Far Horizon" with a female singing that gives the song a feeling like Theater Of Tragedy. Two fundamental faults of the... Read entire review »
| Source: Gondolin Everyone found something worth checking out in the flood of records we have recently received. It all went smooth without fighting, name calling or other reckless behavior. I was able to roughly check the most of the material that we got. And I can't say it was little of it. I couldn't dig some of them, mostly the typical Heavy or Power Metal bands and the like. On the other hand, someone could always find it worth listening to. I couldn't bear it, but at least Widzewiak was happy. And so on and so forth. What I find weird is the fact that even though Power Metal hasn't been my cup of tea lately and what's more I seem to be allergic to any over sweetened productions, the X-Piral album carried me away with the first listening to the samples placed on the label's website. And I like it although the band lingers in the land of keyboard Power Metal. The band comes from Greece, the homeland of the 5 guys that play in it. X-Piral appears among other second league...
