Dissociate - Dissociate Dissociate is another band I know nothing about, other than what I've heard. What I've heard has impressed me thoroughly, however. I've made attempts to classify it. Is it industrial? Is it noise? Is it EBM? The answer is all and none of the above. It even has elements of house and breakbeats, with nifty samples thrown in. With all this it comes closest to being power-noise, methinks. The first track "chain" rocks me, plain and simple. It starts out like a thudding metal tune, but quickly departs from that. Evil vocal samples and space-age bleeps drift across the pounding musical landscape before adding further layers of irresistible drum loops. Its yummy! "Bad touch" has thudding bass lines, droning synth lines, glitch noises and if I'm not mistaken, samples from the fantastic indie film "Buffalo 66". No, it's not a cover of the Bloodhound Gang.
