Brief Description Originally from Austin, TX. Grew up in Dallas & SW Colorado. I started my career as an A/V designer and wrote ambient music for multimedia and later became a copywriter in advertising for about twelve years before I moved to Thailand. Now I'm head of international marketing & PR for Global Franchise Architects in Bangkok. I'm currently writing a novel and am still composing music when time permits.
History/Biography Started writing ambient music in the early 80s mainly because I heard Brian Eno. Continued developing my style inspired by too many to mention - everything from Eric Satie to Kraftwerk and later Mark Isham, Ryuichi Sakamoto and more recent bands like Tosca. Dub Reggae was always my favorite style to work in and have written many dubs over the years. Inspiration? Augustus Pablo of course, but also Aswad, Black Uhuru and UB40. While working in the multimedia industry at its early stages I began using infant digital processing equipment along with analogue and early digital programs like Sound Designer II and later Pro Tools. My current style is an evolution of these early days of mixing for incidental (background) music for multimedia, installations, film, the Web, etc... |
