Brief Description American Roots Rock and Blues
History/Biography A new back to the roots attitude and sound has just been developed by Kenny Belanger, former member of the very successful Belanger Bros. out of Phoenix, Arizona.
Kenny has relocated to a country estate in upstate New York (back to his roots) and has partnered with two new band members from the area. Kenny has returned to the roots of American rock and blues.
Joining Kenny is Victor Rapozo, bass/vocalist. Victor is a native of Broome County, playing large venues in the tri-upstate area and has been performing the majority of his life with an original touch of rock and blues. He adds a tight rhythm bass to the act, which blends a dynamic roots oriented sound and style.
The band will be performing in various venues throughout the state, and are working on the release of a new CD, embarking on a new national tour, promoting and performing the back to the roots music in their own personal style, sure to be a hit to see and hear.
Kenny originally came from the upper New York state area where he and his brother, Gar Belanger, played to the delight and enjoyment of large followings. In 1989, they decided they needed a change and moved to the Southwest and Phoenix, Arizona. During their years in Phoenix, they again developed a large loyal following of fans, all the time, experimenting and improving their music. It was during this time they teamed up with the late Maynard Portwood, a Rock-N-Roll Hall Of Fame member from the Allman Brothers Band.
While in Phoenix, Kenny came out with two CD's, Belanger and Bros, and Down In Jamaica, both being very popular. It wasn't just in the Phoenix area either where Kenny's brand and style of music was a hit. Kenny was sought out to play to crowds all over the Southwest in many concerts and various venues. Kenny has opened for various major artists, most recently the Doobie Brothers. Kenny has been on the production team of over 25 platinum and gold records (working with the late Sean Delaney and others) so he is very familiar with the production as well as the performance side of the business.
