KEKAL is currently recording a new album! Posted on March 7, 2006 11:59 PM

| We are really pleased to tell you some great news about the new album we are working in... January 2006: KEKAL began recording a new album earlier this January. It will take about 6 to 7 months ahead to complete all the recording. As said by guitarist/vocalist Jeff, "I am very confident with the new material. I had never been as confident and proud as when we did "1000 Thoughts of Violence" CD, but now I am, without a doubt. I believe this will be our most-focused, most-explored and most ambitious album we have recorded so far. There are tons of fresh, diverse new elements, and many of the experiments are actually the ones that have never been done before in metal, yet they are unmistakably 100% KEKAL". No album title is being published yet as for now, but the work is based on the thoughts of full concept-album which being estimated to run for over 70 minutes. Once again, Jeff is producing and engineering the new album. February 2006: We are still working very hard in writing and recording material for our upcoming album to make sure everything comes perfectly. So far the production runs smoothly and the sound comes exactly what we want to have. The drums sound superb this this time (probably the best overall drum-sound we've ever got). We use different snare drums and each snare sound has its own character that fits with the certain kind of emotion we would like to express in each particular song. As a part of our exploration, we look for any possibility of using different guitar tones/sound-characters on the recording as well, even in one song (not to mention the using of digital manipulations and various modulation effects to enhance the atmosphere). March 2006: One thing that is new and interesting: our album cover will have 7 interesting original artwork/illustrations done by our bassist Azhar Levi Sianturi. Levi is not only known as a bassist and songwriter, but he is also an illustrator. Some of his illustrations have been used for T-Shirt design, etc. Also great news: our friends in ALTERA ENIGMA, Jason DeRon and Kenny Cheong (Australia) have recorded guitar and fretless bass parts as special guest appearances on our new album.
