| Jr. Pride At Shotz Bar & Grill - Sherman, Tx. Posted on June 7, 2005 11:22 PM

| This was a fantastic show. We started out with a couple of minor problems. First the fuse in Fernando's Bassman Amp burnt out, and he and Mikey had to make a special trip to Radio Shack for some new ones. They made it back in time, installed it, and we were off and running. As we were performing the first song of the night, halfway through, the Powered Mixer we were using decided to burn up....thank you Brian & Dudes Music for hooking us up with a powered head so quick -- we were up and running with a minor 20 minute delay. The rest of the night went fantastic, great friends, great venue, great music....who could ask for more. Stay tuned for more Jr. Pride shows this summer!!! We will see you there.
| SOSU Article - "Another 48 Hours" Posted on April 6, 2005 11:27 PM

| President John F. Kennedy was on to something when he said, "Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country." Public service is a civic duty that we as citizens should jump to participate in. There are countless opportunities at the local level to allow people to participate in their society. And it is not just picking up trash on the side of the highway or cooking at the local soup kitchen. Public service includes, and is not limited to, all aspects of society and should accentuate the personal interest and talents of those who participate. There are various national and local charity organizations that are always looking for help. Why not discover one you believe in and see how you can help out? Atoka will play host to a three-day music festival, Sept. 24-26, called "Another 48 Hours in Atoka" and said to feature 15 or 20 local music artists. How does this involve public service? "Another 48 Hours in Atoka" will be a charity event for the... Read more »

| Dandelions live among thorns
By Ken Studer Herald Democrat In today's music there seems to be a lot of musicians who try to camouflage their musical shortcomings with their ability to operate a fog machine, strobes and distortion controls. The smoke and mirrors keep the audience from noticing wrong chords and flat vocals. This is why it is refreshing to hear a true musician/singer like Fernando Braxton. Whether he is playing jazz bass and horn with The Clockwork Jazz Consortium, electric guitar with the Jr. Pride Band, or acoustic guitar with Jayson Starkey on keyboards, it all is flawless and from the heart. The in-your-face attitude is replaced by a total appreciation for his music's acceptance. Braxton is comfortable playing any style of music. He can bring you to tears with his sometimes modern, sometimes delta type blues. He can get your toe tapping with his swinging bass licks on songs like "Take the `A' Train," and he can get you there and... Read more »
